January 5, China Association of Environmental Protection Industry (CAEPI), held a video conference to review the Smoke & Dust Low Emission and Coupling Technologies & Applications in Iron & Steel Production Project, jointly performed by HBIS and University of Science Technology Beijing. Conference Experts fully agreed that the project was a world leading technology and could give the technological support and demonstration lead to China steel industry in lowing emissions. This project honored the first Prize of 2020 Environmental Protection Award.
To meet ultra-low emission requirement in iron and steel industry and the demand of the by-products utilization, HBIS made research and development of the catalytic purification, synergy absorption, collected adsorption, energy efficiency, by-products utilization. These key techniques such as the development of the catalyst, gel materials, adsorption materials, the three kinds of functional materials, building the collaborative governance pollutants, energy efficient utilization and by-products utilization multi-function coupling system of ultra-low emission technology, in realizing the ultra-low emission pollutants of iron and steel industry, comprehensive utilization of low grade waste heat efficiency more than 40%, the solid waste to reduce more than 50%, environmental, social and economic benefit is remarkable.
CAEPI 2020 Environmental Protection Technology First Prize is the highest award in the field of environmental protection in China.
